Advancing youth agricultural entrepreneurship and ICT innovations to boost climate-resilient food value chains

CTA has issued a call for proposal to advance agricultural entrepreneurship and ICT innovations by young people in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. Successful applicants will receive grants ranging from EUR 30 000 to 100 000. Closing date  15 February 2015.

Caribbean Food Crops Society: call for abstracts

The Caribbean Food Crops Society has issued a call for abstracts for papers to be presented at its 51th Annual Meeting in Suriname, 19-24  July 2015. Theme is 'Food Safety, Innovation and Quality in Green Agriculture: the way forward to food security for the Caribbean.  Form can be downloaded from here, closing date is 15 February 2015.

Coral reef research in French Polynesia: call for projects - 2015 grants

The Institute for Pacific Coral Reefs (IRCP) and two french polynesian firms, Société des Nouveaux Hôtels (SNH) and Société Polynésienne de Développement Durable (SPDD) are making available grants to young scientists (Master, PhD, Post-doctorate - < 35 yrs) to conduct a scientific project in the French Polynesia coral reefs. Each year, four candidates are selected among whom at least one from South Pacific Island States in order to promote training for scientific research in these countries.The sum of each grant will be  € 4.500 for  travel expenses to and from French Polynesia, accommodation and research costs. Closing date: 12 January 2015.

UNU-INRA Call for proposals for developing socio-economic scenarios for ECOWAS

NU-INRA calls for proposals to conduct a three (3) months data collection to gather socio-economic data and information for use in socio-economic scenarios for ECOWAS. Closing date: September 23, 2014. This  consultancy forms part of a research project on Climate Change, Agricultural Trade and Food Security in ECOWAS, which is being sponsored by the African Climate Policy Centre of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ACPC/UNECA).

Deadline: 16 September 2014    The CESAB (CEnter for Synthesis and Analysis on Biodiversity) is an initiative run by the French Foundation for Research on Biodiversity (FRB) to promote high level research activities devoted to syntheses of ideas and/or data analyses in the field of biodiversity. CESAB supports national or international working groups developing syntheses of ideas and concepts, and/or data analyses to improve our understanding of all facets of biodiversity.

2014 Call for Applications for Funding, Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN)

Deadline for submission of Summary Proposal or EOI: Sunday, 3 August 2014. APN’s activities promote research that improves understanding of the physical, biological and human dimensions of change in Earth system and science that informs adaptation and mitigation decision-making in the following specific areas: Climate Change and Climate Variability; Ecosystems, Biodiversity and Land Use; Changes in the Atmospheric, Terrestrial and Marine Domains; and Resources Utilisation and Pathways for Sustainable Development. The APN is inviting applications from all member and approved countries under two separate calls, for funding FROM JUNE 2015, and is able to provide a limited amount of financial support for research and capacity development activities that fall within its areas of interest. The separate calls are outlined below: The CAPaBLE Programme for Scientific Capacity Development – capacity development proposals are welcomed. All of APN’s thematic areas are of interest; the APN’s Climate Adaptation Framework (CAF) – research and capacity development Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are welcomed.
