YPARD Coordinator

The Young Professionals Platform on Agricultural Research for Development (YPARD) is looking for a coordinator who will have the overall responsibility for the implementation of the business plan and the yearly plans of operations as approved by the YPARD Steering Committee. The mission of the Young Professionals Platform on Agricultural Research for Development (YPARD) is to serve as a global platform through which young professionals can express their ideas and realize their full potential towards a dynamic agricultural research for development. It aims to facilitate exchange of information and knowledge among young professionals across disciplines, professions, age and regions; to broaden opportunities for young professionals (YPs) to contribute to strategic ARD policy debates; to promote agriculture among young people and to facilitate access to resources and capacity-building opportunities for YPs in ARD. Cirad: Resarch fellow in innovations systems and local knowledge

Cirad is seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional in the field of agriculture and rural development to become a full-time research fellow within the context of the EC-funded JOLISAA (Joint Learning on Innovation Systems in African Agriculture) project it coordinates. JOLISAA, an interdisciplinary project implemented by an international consortium including European and African partners focuses on identifying, assessing and sharing lessons learnt about past and on-going experiences with innovation systems and local knowledge in three African countries. The main role of the research fellow will be to contribute to developing and applying an analytical framework to selected innovation case studies. The successful candidate will be stationed in Montpellier (France), with short-term stays in Wageningen (Netherlands), and will travel periodically to Africa over the duration of his/her tenure. CCAFS: Regional facilitators (3 positions)

CCAFS ( Climate Change Agriculture and Food Security) is seeking Regional Facilitators for West Africa, Eastern Africa and the Indo-Gangetic Plains. The Regional Facilitators will be hosted by CGIAR centres operating in the regions, and will be employed through the host Centre. Facilitators will be responsible for ongoing coordination of activities, including ensuring close integration of work from multiple themes. A key role of the Regional Facilitators is to ensure the links between researchers and the multitude of relevant stakeholders, from farm to regional level. Regional Facilitators will be key in fostering outcomes and impact. They will have a major role in facilitating scenario development in each region. Regional facilitators will assist the Director in fundraisingand undertaking regional synthesis activities. Closing Date: 20th February 2010.

IFPRI: Research fellow/senior research fellow, policies and institutions for cutting hunger & poverty

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a Research/Senior Research Fellow to coordinate development of large, strategic, cross-cutting research programs related to policies and institutions for cutting hunger and poverty in developing countries. The senior research fellow/program development coordinator will report to the director general and will draw inputs from and work closely with IFPRI’s research Divisions in developing these programs. He/she will also interact frequently with CGIAR centers and IFPRI partners to ensure that research programs developed are collaborative under the newly reformed CGIAR. This position is based at IFPRI headquarters located in Washington, D.C. The final grade level will be determined by demonstrated experience and track record of publications. IIED Researcher - Forest partnerships

IIED is looking for a versatile researcher with research, communications, facilitation and project management skills and experience to help the team deliver on IIED’s contribution to the Growing Forest Partnerships (GFP) Initiative. You will work with in-country teams to develop a range of outputs (technical reports, evaluation as well as communications) and liaise with other GFP partners on behalf of IIED and in-country teams, if appropriate.
