The Trans-Eurasia Information Network (TEIN) uses ICT technologies to increase regional cooperation with Asian countries and to bridge the digital divide of less developed regions. It connects universities and research institutions via high capacity Internet networks to increase the exchanges of knowledge among them and make big international research projects real. hanks to TEIN, students are benefiting from better internet access, researchers from increased speed and capacity, which enables exchanging big amounts of data and makes international research collaboration possible. TEIN3’s applications include supporting disaster-warning systems, tele-medicine, e-learning, crop research, earth-observation and radio astronomy.
