Introduction:

This book by the FAO gives a wide-ranging perspective on the present state of agricultural mechanisation in the developing world. Adoption patterns and progress of mechanisation from around the world are described using example from Africa,  South India, Brazil, among other regions. Recurrent topics such as investment opportunities, local machinery manufacturing, environmental impacts, engineering challenges and future research avenues.
